Sprinter cost-per-mile calculator
Brochure economy figures are fiction once a Sprinter is loaded and working. This calculator uses a real operating model: put in your own mileage, MPG and pump price and it returns the true all-in cost per mile, including the chunk you save by servicing at an independent specialist rather than a main dealer.
You are saving about £1,400/year by servicing at an independent rather than a main dealer.
| Fueldiesel at your MPG and pump price | £4,485 |
| Servicing & repairs (independent)parts, labour, consumables | £1,800 |
| Tyresspread over tyre life | £347 |
| AdBlueSCR diesel exhaust fluid | £264 |
| Depreciationvalue lost this year | £2,640 |
| Insurance & VEDfixed annual costs | £1,435 |
| Total per year | £10,971 |

How the calculator works
The model adds the six costs that actually decide what a Sprinter costs to run: diesel at your real MPG and pump price, servicing and repairs, tyres spread over their life, AdBlue where fitted, depreciation, and the fixed annual costs of insurance and road tax. It does not include finance interest, which depends entirely on your deal.
The servicing figure is the one most people get wrong. We use a pence-per-mile rate that reflects what owners genuinely pay, and we show both an independent-specialist rate and a main-dealer rate so you can see the gap. On higher mileages that gap alone runs into four figures a year.
For a full breakdown of where these numbers come from, read the cost-per-mile analysis and the servicing costs guide.
