Sprinter symptoms and most likely causes
Every symptom below links directly to the relevant fault guide with real costs, a diagnosis approach, and independent specialist advice. Generation notes (T1N, NCV3, VS30) show where a cause is generation-specific.
Warning lights
AdBlue warning / countdown to no-start
- Most likely NOx sensor failure NCV3, VS30
- Also check AdBlue injector or pump fault NCV3, VS30
- Possible Poor-quality or crystallised AdBlue
DPF / engine warning light on
- Most likely Blocked diesel particulate filter from short-trip use
- Also check Failed DPF differential pressure sensor
- Possible EGR fault preventing successful regeneration
How it drives
Limp mode / sudden loss of power
- Most likely Turbo actuator sticking
- Also check Blocked DPF or failed regen
- Possible EGR valve stuck
